Asian Zouk Championships

Asian Open Division

Registration fee RM100 per couple.

1. Song length minimum 2 mins to maximum 4 mins
2. Songs need to be Zoukable; Lyrical is allowed
3. 70% of the moves need to be recognizable zouk moves
4. No limitations on lifts and tricks
5. Proper costumes are a must else will be disqualified
6. For all level of competitors
7. Judged on:-
     - Timing 10%
     - Choreography (Musicality & Routine Creativity) 20%
     - Showmanship (Stage Presence & Skill) 20%
     - Technicality (Posture, Poise, Footwork, Techniques) 20%
     - Partnerwork & Connection (Chemistry) 20%
     - Costumes 10%

2. Songs need to be Zoukable; Lyrical is allowed
3. 70% of the moves need to be recognizable zouk moves
4. No lifts allowed. Tricks that does not lift any both legs off the ground is allowed
5. Proper costumes are a must else will be disqualified
6. Only the amateur is Judged; Professional is allowed to dance up to 5 different Amateurs
7. Judged on:-
     - Timing 30%
     - Showmanship (Stage Presence & Skill) 20%
     - Technicality (Posture, Poise, Footwork, Techniques) 20%
     - Partnerwork & Connection (Chemistry) 20%
     - Costumes 10%

SPECIAL: Brazilian Zouk Dance Council registered event - Zouk Jack & Jill

3Zouk SEA is very pleased to announce it will be hosting a Brazilian Zouk Dance Council registered Jack & Jill Competition during the event.

Jack & Jill competitions are designed to highlight skills in social dancing and the ability to dance well with a variety of partners. Competitors enter as individuals, are randomly assigned partners and dance to music selected by the event. Don’t miss the chance to be part of this exciting competition.

Jack & Jill Competition
- random partners in the Jack n Jill rounds and random songs
- will be judged individually and not in pairs
- costumes are encouraged but not a requirement
- registration fee of USD30/pax is required
- top male and female will be chosen for the Finals



Zouk SEA is a Brazilian Zouk Dance Council ("BZDC") Registry Event. As such, points are awarded to the winners and place getters (and possibly finalist) of our Jack & Jill Competitions. The BZDC records and tracks every competitor and these points are used to identify the category a person should compete in. There must be a minimum of five couples per category for points to be recorded.

Male competitors must enter as Leaders and female competitors as Followers.

Divisions

Novice
A person should compete novice if you have never competed in Brazilian Zouk Jack & Jill competitions before

Intermediate
A person should compete intermediate if they have had significant dance experience in Brazilian Zouk
